Talk

Architecture Without Gatekeepers: Decoupling for Neutrality — presented by Marcin Gwóźdź.

Open source only works if the community can contribute without hitting a wall. We realized our architecture at OpenEverest was unintentionally biased toward specific tools, so we rebuilt it. Marcin will share how we moved to a modular plugin system that decouples our core from specific operators. By supporting everything from Valkey to competing Postgres flavors, we’ve eliminated vendor lock-in and ensured the community — not the architecture — dictates the project’s future.

Why stop by our kiosk?

OpenEverest is a CNCF Sandbox project for unified, vendor-neutral database provisioning and management on Kubernetes. Find us in the Solutions Showcase on Wednesday afternoon — here’s what we’ll be talking about:

  • OpenEverest v2 and new providers & plugins — a deep dive into the v2 release, what changed under the hood, and the new database providers and plugin architecture that shipped with it. → Read the v2 dev preview announcement
  • LFX Mentorship — the next term is opening up. If you’re interested in contributing to an open-source CNCF project with real mentorship, come find out how to apply.
  • Data on Kubernetes community — we’ll share stats and insights on where the community is heading and what patterns we’re seeing across production deployments.

We’ll have stickers. Bring your questions — and your production war stories.
